Olean Public Library Trustee Election & 2026 Budget Vote

Polls are open 9:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M.

Voting will take place at the Olean Public Library. 

 

Public Hearing on the 2026 budget

Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 6:00 P.M.

A copy of the budget will be available on May 27th. 

 

Nominating Petitions for Trustee 

There is one position open on the Board. This position is a 5-year term, commencing July 1, 2025. Candidates interested in running for Trustee must be qualified voters of the Olean City School District and have resided in the district for a period of at least one year immediately preceding the June 26, 2025 vote. Nominating petitions must have a minimum of twenty-five (25) legal signatures of qualified voters within the School District. Completed petitions must be returned to the Olean Public Library on or before Wednesday, May 28, 2025 by 5:00 P.M.  

Absentee/Early Mail Ballots  

Applications to receive an absentee or early mail ballot for the June 26, 2025 Olean Public Library Trustee Election & Budget Vote are available at the Information Desk in the library. Completed applications must be received by the Library Clerk by 5:00 P.M. by June 19 2025, if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or by 5:00 P.M. on June 25, 2025, if the ballot is picked up by the voter. Absentee and early mail ballots must be received by the Library Clerk by 5:00 P.M. on June 26, 2025 to be counted.

Military voters who are qualified voters of the school district may apply for a military ballot by requesting an application. For a military voter to be issued a military ballot, the Library Clerk must have received a valid ballot application no later than 5:00 P.M. on June 11, 2025. In a request for a military ballot application or ballot, the military voter may indicate his or her preference for receiving the application or ballot by mail, facsimile transmission or electronic mail. Military ballots must be received by 5:00 P.M. on June 26, 2025 in order to be counted.

The Olean Public Library Board meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM in the library conference room. All meetings are open to the public.
