If there's anything we've learned from being on the board of directors it's that you can't do everything yourself. Not only is it humanly impossible but it takes away the opportunity for others to give of themselves. Another thing we've learned is what a good feeling it is to help others.

As we go beyond our goal for the book endowment fund, we are looking at other areas that we can help the library and the community. There are always needs. Are you a people person? We need help hosting artist receptions. Maybe you'd rather just help by cleaning up afterwards. Can you drive? We might need someone to pick up the artist at the airport. Do you like history? There is now a need to help research genealogies. There's something for everyone. Whether you are young or old, working or retired, experienced or inexperienced, busy or bored, there are lots of ways you can help Friends.

If you've never done anything like it before, don't worry. Other Friends will be there to help. Volunteers who have hosted artist's receptions couldn't believe what a great time they had.

When you fill out your membership, put a check mark next to the area with which you'd like to help. We'll be contacting everyone and calling when the need arises.

In the newsletter, you'll read about some projects we have in the planning stages. These new goals will benefit the library, our community, and our people. Let's all work together using the talents we have and demonstrate to everyone the true meaning of friendship.
